Interested In Competing?

Our dances have competed for many years, each year they have won multiple high score awards, placed among top scoring routines, received special judge's awards, choreography awards and more!

Uniquely, at JD you have the ability to choose your own specialty routines; solos, duets, and trios. Dancers are able to request what type of specialty routine(s) they'd like at the start of the season. Dancers are also able to choose the style of dance of their specialty routine(s).

Our competitive teams learn a variety of group choreography in multiple styles. All dancers have the option to choose from the following options: Tap Only, Hip-Hop Only, Contemporary/Lyrical & Jazz or All Styles (Tap, Hip-Hop, Contemporary/Lyrical & Jazz) 

Our competitive teams compete in 3-4 regional competitions per year. These regional competitions take place in March-Early May. All competition dates are received at the start of each season. Dancers must be available for the entirety of each competition weekend. All regionals are located on Long Island in driving distance from the studio.

We offer all aged dancers to audition for our competitive teams! Dancers 7 and under may only be permitted to compete in 1-2 styles if they are at a beginner level, to ensure a comfortable transition into the commitment of our competitive teams.

Depending on interest level from the team each season, our competitive teams will attend a National Competition either every year or every other year. Information regarding Nationals dates and locations are given at the start of each season.
